Nyokum Putung at Joram, Arunachal Pradesh.

Nyokum Putung is a memorial statue at Joram in lower subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh.  This signifies a great importance to Nyishi community. Visitors and tourist have a glimpse of this wonderful site after a long back pain journey. There is slight provision for resting place. The place really beautiful but need some proper maintenance and care. Such an amazing archetectural design may vanish without guidance and information may pass on to next generation. The ancient history of Nyishi community is inscribed in it.

Indian Lipstick Plant Discovered in Arunachal Pradesh

Editor -Likha Taje Indian Lipstick Plant Discovered in Arunachal Pradesh  Researchers from Botanical Survey of India (BSI) has rediscovered a rare plant, which is also known as 'Indian Lipstick Plant ' in the remote Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh. In 1922, a British botanist Stephen Troyte Dunn first identified this plant and nomenclature was made as Aeschynanthus monetaria Dunn. Later on another British botanist Isaac Henry Burkill identified this plant in  Arunachal Pradesh a century ago. According to BSI scientists Krishna Chowlu said in an article that, " Due to the appearance of tubular red corolla, some of the species under the genus Aeschynanthus are called as Lipstick plants." During the floristic studies in Arunachal in December 2021, Chowlu collected few specimens of Aeschynanthus from Hyuliang and Chipru of Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, which is identified as Indian Lipstick Plant  

Diphu Pass in Arunachal Pradesh

Editor -Likha Taje Diphu Pass in Arunachal Pradesh Diphu is a mountain pass which is around the area of disputed tripoint border of India, China and Myanmar.  Diphu Pass lies on the McMahon line of Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh. The elevation of the Diphu Pass is 4,587m in the Himalayan Range. In 1960, China and Myanmar demarcated their border to the Diphu Pass of Arunachal Pradesh, India. 

Sela Macaque discovered in Arunachal Pradesh

Editor -Likha Taje Sela Macaque a new species of Macaque Discovered in Arunachal Pradesh. The scientists of Zoological Survey of India has discovered a new species of Macaque in Arunachal Pradesh. This new species of Macaque is named as Sela Macaque which is named after the Sela pass. Arunachal Macaque (M.munzala) a which is an endangered species has recently discovered cercopithencine primate from western part of Arunachal Pradesh.
