Arunachal Pradesh has more than 500
species of fauna. Arunachal Pradesh is only state in country that provide a home
to the four major species of cat – Tiger, Leopard, Clouded Leopard and Snow
Leopard.
Namdapha National Park (in Changlang) -
is hotspot for rare and endangered animals and plants species. Like snow leopards, clouded leopard as well as red pandas and red fox. The park offers activities such as camping, elephant safari and boat rides.
Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary (in East Siang) –
it is known to be the home for many carnivores and
herbivores like deer, buffaloes, langur, etc. and attract many migratory birds from Mongolia and Siberia.
Mouling National Park(in Upper Siang) -
it consist of diverse flora and fauna, like tiger, panthers, elephant, hog deer, samber deer, red pandas, and various species of birds.Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary-
Sessa Orchid Sanctuary-
this sanctuary offers nature’s amazing sight that is
hard to forget. Sessa O.S is known for its beauty and magical landscapes and
wide range of orchids growing.
Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary –
it is great place to take wildlife tours and nature safari. This is a home for red pandas, asiatic black bear, musk deer, etc. with rare species of birds like sclater’s Monal and Blyth’s tragopan.
Kane Wildlife Sanctuary(West Siang) –
it is known for offering exotic migratory birds that visit the area.
Kamlang Wildlife Sanctuary (Lohit) –
established in 1989, is the 50th Tiger Reserve in India. Sanctuary has rich resources with flora and fauna.
Pakke Tiger Reserve(Pakke Kessang) -
also known
for Pakhui Tiger Reserve. It is an ideal place for viewing flora and fauna like
hornbills.
Talle Valley Wildlife Sanctuary(Lower Subansiri) –
also known as Talley Valley wildlife sanctuary, is protected area established in 1995.
Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary(West Kameng) –
in the foothill of Himalayan and conjoins with Sessa Orchid Sanctuaries and Pakhui Tiger Reserve. Established in 1989.
Bological Park or Zoo (Papum Pare)-
It is a home to Himalayan Black Bear, Royal
Bengal Tiger Leopard, Indian Horbill Etc.
